About the Role
The primary purpose of the role is to be responsible for the inspection of work completed by contractors and sub-contractors engaged in operational works
Key accountabilities include:
- Responsible for the provision of specialised/technical services
- Demonstrates visible leadership and encourages others to perform at their best.
- Lead a team of contractors and sub-contractors requiring the review and approval of work performed by others.
- Adhere to relevant legislative requirements, policies, and current standards.
- As required represent Council to the public or other organisations.
- Utilise effective communication and persuasive skills when providing advice.
- Daily inspection of work completed by contractors maintaining and restoring the civil asset work program.
- Assist in interviews for permanent and casual staff and induct new staff.
- Complete customer request investigations, organised completion of works, if required, and upload completion reports
- Carry out compliance inspections of vehicular crossings, asset restorations and the Works Improvement Program
- Carry out cost estimates and manage work order processes, including inspecting work completed by contractors.
- Experience with civil asset maintenance
- Experience as a Project Officer
- Trade qualification or Certificate IV in a related field
- Extensive experience in the application of skills in all aspects of the job
- Stakeholder engagement experience
- Current class ‘C’ driver's licence
- 3x Covid Vaccinations
