If your answer is yes, then the role of Manager at Thredbo Alpine Club may be the one for you. Our 32 bed Ski Lodge is located in the heart of beautiful Thredbo Village and we are currently looking to appoint a dynamic and professional couple as managers for the winter 2024 season starting at the beginning of June 2024.
The ideal lifestyle job for lovers of the Snowy Mountains, the position comes with a comfortable private flat located in our Lodge along with a car space, free wi-fi, utilities and meals. With skilful time management, time will be available for the managers to ski, snowboard or otherwise enjoy the exciting activities Thredbo has to offer.
Thredbo Alpine Club caters for members and their guests in a comfortable and well-appointed 16 bedroom Ski Lodge complete with extensive mountain views. There is a large commercial kitchen, three living areas, one with an open fire place, and a dining room. We are a friendly and collegiate club so the ideal managers will be warm and welcoming hosts with excellent interpersonal skills who are able to nurture and maintain the close community atmosphere of Club life.
The duties are varied and include:
- Preparation and cooking two meals per day during the season for up to 40 people
- Menu planning and food ordering to a daily per head budget.
- Maintaining the commercial kitchen to the standards required by the Food Authority.
- Ordering, replenishment and stock control of all other consumables.
- Cleaning & maintaining the common areas of the lodge and restocking bedrooms at guest turnaround (members clean their own rooms on departure)
- Maintaining facilities and liaising with relevant service providers.
- Managing guest bookings with the assistance of the Booking Director.
- General lodge management duties including facilitating arrivals and oversight of lodge plant and equipment.
Essential Selection Criteria:
- Extensive previous experience cooking for groups along with creativity and a passion for producing exceptional food.
- Hospitality management experience – both front and back of house.
- IT skills - proficiency with online booking systems, social media, email, Excel and Word.
- Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
- Working with Children Check
- Full COVID-19 vaccination status including recommended booster shots.
- Valid Working Visa (if not Australian Residents)
The Lodge is open year round to members, so while this appointment is initially for the Winter Season, a year round role is also a possibility for the right people.
