Sleep Study Technician
To support this busy Sleep Medicine service and its patients, we are seeking an additional team member to join our team of Sleep Technicians, around 10 to 20 hours per week; typically mid week.
The role includes:
- Review sleep study requests, prepare patient rooms and monitoring equipment
- Welcome patients and explain evening procedure
- Attach electrodes and monitoring equipment to patients, check equipment performance. Troubleshoot any problems as required
- Ensure signal quality is good overnight and assist patients as needed
- Disconnect equipment in the morning, assist patients with departure
- Clean, prepare and return equipment for following evening
The service operates 3-4 nights per week, Monday to Thursday.
• Evening shifts, 1 to 2 per week : 6:00pm – 11:00pm
• Night shift, 1 to 2 per week : 9:30pm - 7:30am
SleepDoctors Australia is a collaboration of uniquely trained Sleep Physicians, blending the latest advancements in sleep medicine, behavioural techniques and technology to closely assess, monitor and treat complex sleep problems.
Essential requirements:
- Experience in customer service environment
- A proven ability to work autonomously, problem solve and find solutions
- Demonstrated computer skills and IT problem solving ability
- A history of excellent time management and organisational skills
- Compassionate and professional approach towards patients
- An ability to adapt and change as the needs of the service and patients evolve
- Be driven to provide excellent patient outcomes
- Have or willing to obtain a current Working With Children check card
Desirable experience/qualifications:
- Experience working in a health care environment
- Healthcare qualifications (or working towards them) in scientific, allied health or medical technology
Full training will be provided.
