SMO Administration Officer
Support students undertaking Seafaring and Maritime Operations Courses
Based at the Australian Maritime College, Launceston
Full time fixed term until 2 December 2024
Flexible working arrangements may be considered on a case by case basis
About the opportunity
We are seeking to appoint an Administration Officer supporting the Centre for Seafaring and Maritime Operations (SMO) at the Australian Maritime College, part of The College of Sciences and Engineering.
This role will provide a wide range of duties which support the efficient and high quality delivery of higher education training outcomes and student experience whilst ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory frame works. The Administration Officer must be familiar with and have a working knowledge of both higher education, and Vocational Education and Training (VET) frameworks and Quality Standards to successfully undertake their duties.
What you’ll do:
Provide professional, timely and relevant assistance to current and prospective students including course information and responding with appropriate information.
Assist with incoming enquiries relating to training courses and responding with appropriate information.
Course administration tasks including processing enrolments, assessing student eligibility, creating student files and any other course related tasks.
Entering results, confirming of student completion and arranging the issuing of Certificates.
Provide reception service (as required) by responding professionally and effectively to all enquiries with attention to detail and accuracy when providing any information ensuring compliance with relevant requirements.
Provide support with preparation and materials for student induction.
What we’re looking for:
Completion of Year 12 or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and training.
High level of proficiency in using a range of software packages & databases.
Experience and knowledge of Vocational Education and Training Student Management Systems.
Understanding and knowledge of Higher Educational and Vocational Education and Training requirements or the willingness to gain the knowledge.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to a large range of people and organisations at all levels.
Demonstrated administrative, organisational and problem solving skills with a particular emphasis on attention to detail.
Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at HEO 4 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $86,321 comprising base salary within the range of $69,646 to $73,779 plus 17% superannuation.
