- 75 hours per fortnight
- Based at Lakes Entrance Aboriginal Health Association
- Between $71,372 and 89,307 per annum (pro-rata), depending on qualifications and experience.
Lakes Entrance Aboriginal Health Association (LEAHA) in partnership with Gippsland Lakes Complete Health (GLCH) aims to improve the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal community members in and around the townships of Lakes Entrance, Metung and Swan Reach.
This position will work alongside the local Aboriginal community to support their Social and Emotional well-being journey at an individual, family and community level.
You will work as part of the Social and Emotional Wellbeing team that includes adult and youth justice programs as well as mental health and alcohol and other drug clinicians.
You will utilise best practice models to assess the Social and Emotional Wellbeing needs of the clients of LEAHA to provide appropriate counselling interventions, assist with referral to specialist services and coordinate holistic care.
Another key role function will be to co-produce with the community, events activities and programs that promote wellbeing, support healing, and facilitate a strong connection to culture and country.
Qualifications and Experience
- A relevant qualification in alcohol and other drugs, mental health, social work or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering support to individuals and families, addressing the social determinants that influence their Emotional Wellbeing.
- Demonstrated commitment to the Lakes Entrance Aboriginal community and an understanding of its challenges and cultural strengths.
