Social Inclusion Policy & Project Officer (Disability Access and Inclusion)
- Play a key role in supporting Disability Access and Inclusion in Boroondara.
- Part-time (29 hours per week) parental leave cover position.
- $96,365 - $104,848 per annum (pro rata to be applied) plus Super.
The Social Inclusion Policy & Project Officer plays a key role in developing, researching, implementing, and evaluating policies and Projects that support Disability Access and Inclusion in Boroondara.
Please note this is a fixed-term opportunity, covering a period of parental leave until March 2025.
A little bit about the role
The role will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- overseeing the implementation of the Boroondara Disability Access and Inclusion Plan 2024-28
- convening the Boroondara Community Disability Advisory Committee
- researching, developing and implementing effective community strategies, policies, projects and programs in response to a range of social issues, including those relevant to people with disability
- representing Council externally regarding Disability Access and Inclusion, ensuring good communication between Council and relevant external groups and networks, and coordinating the provision of information and advice to Council and community stakeholders.
A little bit about you
You will have demonstrated experience in social research, analysis, policy development and community engagement and consultation processes.
You will possess an ability to build relationships and engage with a range of stakeholders in the community. This includes all levels of government, other organisations, networks, and the community.
You will also possess outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, and be personable and approachable to a range of audiences. You will have the ability to contribute to a collaborative and cohesive culture.
You will also have comprehensive computer skills across the Microsoft Office range of applications and a willingness to work as part of a team and prepared to share experiences with other team members to improve overall knowledge.
The successful incumbent will also have:
- a commitment to quality outcomes and efficient work practices, and
- excellent time management and organisation skills.
Employment Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in social sciences, community development or a relevant field.
- Applicants must have the right to work in Australia.
- Preferred applicants will be required to undergo a National Police Record Check and hold a valid Working with Children Check.
- All City of Boroondara employees must be fully vaccinated. Appointment of the successful candidate will be subject to provision of evidence of vaccination status or medical exemption prior to commencement.
