Salary Range: AUD $79,883 to $88,883 per annum (Total Remuneration is based on full-time positions and inclusive of superannuation)
Duration: 1 day per week – Friday, with a potential for ad hoc days.
Fixed term contract until the next quadrennial election of March 2024 with the possibility of an extension.
Social Media Assistant (Ward Officer) – Walter Taylor Ward Office
A unique opportunity exists for a highly motivated and customer focussed person to join the Walter Taylor Ward Office as a Ward Officer part-time. As part of a small team based in the location of Indooroopilly, your role will be to help with the digital media presence of the Councillor and the Walter Taylor Ward Office, as well as liaising with the community, residents and other stakeholders in their interactions with Brisbane City Council.
Key responsibilities include:
- developing the social media strategy for the Ward Office
- managing social media content curation and copywriting to ensure brand messaging is fresh, cohesive and focused
- contributing creative ideas to the digital/social calendar
- scheduling regular social media content and activities
- editing photos, creating videos and infographics
- monitoring community and user engagement across social channels and providing recommendations on best practices.
As the successful applicant, you will have:
- proven experience in curating, scheduling, moderating and advertising across major digital platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube and Mailchimp
- knowledge of the social media landscape, including emerging content trends and how to leverage targeting capabilities to maximise reach, grow audiences and increase engagement
- highly developed relationship management and communication skills (written and verbal)
- a high level of personal integrity, treating all matters with the utmost level of confidentiality and respect
- ability to use Canva or other editing software to adjust/enhance photos and videos
- strong attention to detail and an ability to think outside the square.
This role would suit a social media guru with strong initiative and a self-starter attitude. Your willingness and enthusiasm to get the job done will contribute to the overall effective operation of the Ward Office.
Local knowledge of the Walter Taylor suburbs will be highly regarded. This role may include occasional after-hours work by agreement.
