About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Certificate III qualified Social Support Facilitator to join our team and make a valuable contribution in the lives of older persons from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds. You will assist frail and older people to participate in community life and feel socially included through structured, group-based activities that develop, maintain or support independent living and social interaction.
The position is based in Kilsyth with travel to Narre Warren, Carrum Downs and possibly other locations in Southern Metro Region.
About you
- Flexible, caring, patient attitude and an ability to work in a professional and proficient manner
- Knowledge of community aged care services with experience in organising group activities and excursions for elders
- Experience working with frial and/or dementia clients and their families
- Team based approach and ability to work with minimal supervision
- An understanding of various cultures; ability to speak a second language would be desirable
Qualifications
- Certificate III in Aged Care or equivalent
- Level 2 First Aid and CPR
- Victorian Drivers licence (demonstrated experience in driving a 12 seater bus would be advantageous)
- A police check with no disclosable outcomes, evidence of current influenza and full COVID-19 vaccinations is required
