About You

You will hold Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology or Counselling with demonstrated experience in group facilitation. Furthermore, you will have specialist knowledge and relevant experience in coaching, family violence and the MARAM framework, parenting support services and strengths-based intervention support. Your enthusiasm, passion and solid understanding of the principles of group facilitation will be key to your success.

About the role:

Supporting parents and families is a fundamental part of what we do at Windermere. Our Integrated Family Services (IFS) team aims to assist families experiencing a range of concerns affecting the safety, growth and development of their children and the family as a whole. As our Group Program Facilitator you will work closely with key members of the IFS leadership team to develop, coordinate, lead and facilitate various groups for IFS consumers, and those from other programs within Windermere. You will utilise your extensive group facilitation experience to engage with individuals and families while providing education, support and opportunities to build significant support networks, while also linking them to other relevant services within the community.

Recognised as a family friendly and flexible workplace environment, this is a part-time position working 30.4 hours per week and offers a hybrid model of working remotely and within one of our offices based in the Southeast of Victoria (Narre Warren or Pakenham). This is a permanent position.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualified in Social Work, Social Welfare, Psychology, Counselling or similar discipline/s, with proven experience within the field
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience working as a practitioner within the community sector
  • Demonstrated understanding of family violence, trauma, MARAM, and of the Child, Youth and Family service acts, Child safe standards and related legislation/s
  • Experience facilitating groups, coaching practices, and strengths-based work to vulnerable families and/or individuals
  • Sound problem solving skills and time and crisis management abilities
  • Strong communication skills and professionalism
  • Flexibility to work outside standard working hours to provide groups after hours.
  • Willingness to promote and support practices that are inclusive, culturally responsive, safe and accessible.
  • Current Victorian Drivers’ Licence.
  • Willingness to undertake relevant pre-employment screening and checks.
  • Right to Work in Australia e.g. Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or Visa holder with full working rights
