About the role
The Social Work is a key member of the of the multidisciplinary team in the Mental Health Acute Inpatient Service (MHAIS), conducting psychosocial assessments, and brief interventions to consumers and their families/carers who are impacted by acute mental health problems. The role undertakes duties of a varied nature with clinical decisions based on valid and reliable evidence and is recognised as a reference point for other clinicians in the team.

About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated ability to provide consumer focussed social work specific, as well as interdisciplinary clinical services including assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation.
- Demonstrated ability to assist and understand the needs of other team members and communicate with all team members appropriately. This is inclusive of the demonstrated ability to promote a learning environment within the team and contribute to the learning of others through a willingness to share information with others.
- Demonstrated strong communication skills, providing clients, families and stakeholders with a professional and flexible service that meets their needs.
- Demonstrated effective self-management skills in relation to strong time management, documentation, prioritisation and delegation to achieve deadlines.
- Current Authorised Mental Health Practitioner under the Mental Health Act 2016 or working towards obtaining.
