Good Shepherd Catholic School is a double stream primary school located in Lockridge. Good Shepherd is a very multicultural school with families coming from over 40 different countries and cultures. This is a part-time three days a week, ongoing position. Work days are negotiable. Work times are 8am-4pm but are negotiable.
The position requires a qualified Social worker to assess and develop strategies to address emotional and mental health needs of children, young people and their families, within an educational context.
Salary is based on qualifications and experience, within the salary range as per the Social Worker classification in the CEWA Salary Schedule.
Successful Applicant will be required to:
• Be fully supportive of the objectives and ethos of Catholic Education
• Demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, students and parents
• Support students with their individual social and emotional needs
• Provide strategies to assist teachers in building positive relationships and resilience in students
• Liaise with the school Principal and class teachers to establish strategies and action plans that will promote student well-being and assist in maintaining the well being of students, staff and the wider school community
• Work collaboratively with parents
Qualifications Required
• National Coordinated Criminal History Check, from the Department of Education
• Working with Children Screen Check
• Eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers
