OverviewThe Women's and Children's Health Network provides state of the art health care for women and children in Adelaide and South Australia.We are the state's leading provider of specialist care for children with acute and chronic conditions and SA's largest maternity and obstetric service. We also provides important community-based services of which Metropolitan Youth Health is an integral part.Yarrow Place is a service of Health and Recovery, Trauma Safety Services (HaRTSS) and the lead public health agency responding to rape and sexual assault in South Australia.Our Vision: Yarrow Place works towards a long-term vision as follows:South Australia will have a coordinated and comprehensive response to rape and sexual assault and will work towards a society free of sexual violence.Mission Statement: Yarrow Place works to prevent adult rape and sexual assault in South Australia and to assist those affected to address the effects of rape and sexual assault.Join our team and contribute to providing South Australia's women, babies, children and young people with the best health care through both within our hospital or via our many and varied community services and programs.The OpportunityAn exciting opportunity exists to join the Yarrow Place Rape and Sexual Assault Service as an After Hours Crisis Response / Triage Worker (Social Worker) working in a Casual capacity.The AHP2 After Hours Crisis Response / Triage Worker (Social Worker) is responsible for:
  • Providing face to face crisis advocacy and crisis intervention to people of all genders who have experienced recent sexual assault.
  • Working in partnership with on call forensic doctor/nurse.
  • Providing some telephone crisis advocacy and crisis intervention to those who have experienced recent sexual assault.
  • Contacting, consulting with and coordinating other members of the Yarrow Place Daytime and after-hours service.
  • Providing referral information for people of all genders seeking to access counselling, support groups, legal assistance or other help or information in relation to recent sexual assault.
  • Liaising closely with members of other agencies and statutory authorities in provision of a daytime and after-hours sexual assault service.
  • Supporting new Crisis Response Workers on the after-hours panel.
About You:To be successful in this role, you should have:
  • Mature and self-directed, able to work independently and demonstrate initiative
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and contribute towards a cohesive team culture
  • Demonstrated capacity to provide crisis counselling and support to people who have experienced a recent rape or sexual assault
  • Proven ability to organise, coordinate, consult, liaise and communicate effectively
