Role Details
The Department for Child Protection is seeking multipleSocial Workers or Case Managersto join the Inner South office on a full-time termbasis.
The role is responsible for:
- Providing effective case management services to respond to the needs of children and their families aligned to appropriate statutory guidelines
- Delivering a range of intervention strategies to safeguard children and promote positive outcomes
- Assisting children in out of home care to reconnect with their birth families, strengthen relationships and achieve and maintain reunification
- Undertaking regular visits and supporting parents in developing appropriate parenting skills.

We are looking for a motivated, organised individual who has theability to understand factors that contribute to child abuse andconfidently can apply this understanding to your work and thedecisions you make. This will allow you to identify and respond tothe needs and risks to safety, wellbeing and development ofchildren and young people.
You will have a demonstrated ability to apply culturallysensitive child protection practice for Aboriginal and TorresStrait Islander people, and community from culturally andlinguistically diverse backgrounds.

Special Conditions
Essential:
AHP: Adegree level qualification in Social Work which gives eligibilityfor full membership of the Australian Association of SocialWorkers.
PO: Appropriate degree qualification inCommunity Services, Social Sciences, Human Services, Health orrelated field.
Persons of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanderdescent, who have the appropriate background and skills but do nothave the essential qualification, may apply for and beengaged/assigned to the role of Social Worker and will be entitledto apply for any Allied Health Professional roles requiring aqualification in Social Work within the Department for ChildProtection (DCP).
