The Senior Clinician has a key role in ensuring the delivery of quality, specialist services in a forensic service, provide clinical leadership and guidance in the planning, policy development and service delivery in a complex setting.

Selection Criteria
Degree in Social Work or Psychology and membership or demonstrated eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers; in addition to meeting the criteria for a Level 2 Allied Health Professional; OR full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Psychologist or Clinical Psychologist. Minimum of 5 years post graduate experience as a Social Worker or psychologist.
Willingness to undertake accreditation with the Harmful Sexual Behaviours Counsellor Accreditation Scheme administered by the NSW Children’s Guardian.
- Demonstrated extensive post graduate clinical (therapeutic) experience including demonstrated capacity to work therapeutically with people who have sexually abused and/or experienced abuse and postgraduate clinical practice in the area of sexual assault, violence and abuse or related.
- Understanding the impact of colonisation on Aboriginal people and communities and its relationship to Aboriginal Family Violence and demonstrated ability to work effectively with Aboriginal people and communities with willingness to participate in ongoing Aboriginal competency training.
- Demonstrated experience in providing clinical supervision and clinical leadership within a team.
- Demonstrated advanced communication skills, conflict resolution skills, initiative, time management and commitment to clinical team building.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a senior member of a therapeutic team.
- Demonstrated high level of understanding of the legislation, Government policies, NSW Health Policies, and legal issues surrounding harmful sexual behaviour, child protection, domestic violence and sexual abuse and the application of these within a health setting.
- Evidence of a current unrestricted drivers’ licence and the ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires. This may involve driving long distances and overnight stays.
