Social Worker - Maternity Leave Backfill

Novita provides early intervention, rehabilitation, therapy, assistive technology and disability services to more than 6000 people living with disability, as well as support for their families and carers. Our primary purpose is to enable kids, young people and adults living with disability and their families to participate in the community to their full potential.Job DescriptionAbout YouWorking at our Central Therapy as Social Worker, you will provide a community-based service to kids, young people and adults living with a broad range of disabilities including physical, intellectual, and neurodevelopmental. We aim to improve the social wellbeing of our clients and their families by promoting justice and social fairness, acting to reduce barriers and by expanding choice and potential.As a dynamic and proactive Social Worker you will provide information, psychosocial assessments and therapeutic interventions to assist kids, young people and adults living with disability and their families in a multi-disciplinary environment. You will link them to services and provide the support they need to achieve their goals and overcome any barriers to accessing the supports they need.Novita Social Workers provide holistic needs assessments, assistance during times of hardship or vulnerability, support through major life transitions, and assistance to navigate and understand the complexities of the NDIS and disability sector.This position is a Full time 12 months Maternity Leave backfill position based at Hindmarsh.Desired Skills and ExperienceTo be successful in this role you will have the following skills and attributes:

• tertiary qualifications in Social Work
• significant experience in a similar Social Work role
• have knowledge of and experience working in the NDIS context
• experience providing clinical supervision is desirable
• current membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and have or be committed to obtaining AASW accreditation.

Essential Requirements

• NDIS worker screening, DHS Working with Children and Criminal History Check (or willingness to obtain)
• Fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (Novita mandate) or hold valid exemption from Chief Public Health Officer
