About the Role:
The Social Worker operates under limited supervision in a specialist professional capacity in an interdisciplinary team. The incumbent is responsible to the Senior Social Worker (Women & Children) and ultimately the Allied Health Service Manager – Women’s & Children’s Health for the delivery of high quality services to patients in the Women’s & Children’s (W&C) Division.
As a Social Worker, your duties may include:
- Developing, negotiating and delivering services that are relevant to the consumers psychosocial needs across both Paediatric and Women's Health acute services
- Understanding and utilising a best practice approach in the multidisciplinary management of clients
- Contributing to the development of an integrated team approach and culture which is highly responsive to the needs of our consumers
- Actively developing, implementing and, evaluating new techniques, methods relevant to the unit patients
- Prioritising clinical work in line with social work, and hospital priorities
To be successful in this role:
- Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to exercise initiative, analyse complex problems and implement practical solutions
- Ability to work in a dynamic acute hospital environment
