The Role
The SOE (Standard Operating Environment) Engineer is responsible for managing, maintaining, and deploying application packaging and deployment services across the University's end-user managed computing environment. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and maintaining End User Computing SOE.
- Oversee regular testing and maintenance of patches and support packages for the SOE ensuring currency of SOE components on all managed devices.
- Maintain and support Group Policy configuration.
- Resolve routine, ad-hoc & complex enquiries related to SOE services.
What you'll bring to this role
- Relevant tertiary qualification in computing or related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Demonstrated experience in SOE application packaging and support, maintenance, and implementation for Windows 10, MacOS and Office 365.
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Windows family of End User Computing Operating Systems and applications.
- Strong experience in:
- Administering Active Directory and Group Policy,
- Enterprise deployment and management tools (i.e. SCCM),
- Application packaging and deployment methodologies (Microsoft AppV, MSI, Windows Installer),
- Software, hardware and environmental troubleshooting ability.
- Working knowledge of Incident, Problem, Change and Configuration Management (ITIL) processes.
Strongly desired:
- Experience in managing Apple Devices in an Enterprise Environment.
- Experience in managing Apple Devices via Microsoft Intune.
