About the role
Our new Software Development Manager will be responsible for ensuring the continuous improvement of the Software Development teams, offering guidance, coaching and technical leadership to ensure the team can be their best for V/Line. Knowledge of Software Development best practices is a must. Residing in the “Build” part of the COBIT 5 framework, the position is responsible and accountable to deliver many of the Build, Acquire and Implement (BAI) processes within IT.
Ensuring the development teams are on track with various projects. Communicating with the customer the right amount while helping deliver on the technology vision, providing the necessary technical guidance and advice on various solutions.
About you
Our ideal candidate will possess the following:

• Demonstrated experience successfully managing teams of up to 10 people
• Proven experience building relations and communicating effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
• Thorough understanding of SDLC and demonstrated hands-on experience in Software Development
• Experience with the following technologies:

• Dotnet 6, C#, ASP.Net core, .Net Framework, T-SQL
• ORMs (LinqToDb, EFPowershell)
• YAML, TypescriptAngular (10+)
• React
• XamarinContent Management Systems – Kentico preferreAWS Compute
• Storage, integration, networking
• Security products Architecture principles (Microservices, Serverless, Event Sourcing, Pub Sub)
• Tertiary qualification in Software Development/Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline, desirable
• ITIL Foundations certificate, desirable
• AWS Certification (Development, Architecture, Operations), desirable

Remuneration for this position will be in line with the skills and experience required to perform the role.

Remuneration for this position will be in line with the V/Line Rail Operations and Administrative Employees Agreement 2019.
