About the OPPORTUNITY
We have a new opportunity for Software Engineers to join our team based in Williamtown NSW, however working from other BAE Systems sites and remote locations will be considered. This role is part of the engineering capability that supports current and future military aircraft including Hawk, F-35, Loyal Wingman and related systems. We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, including a 9 day fortnight.
The successful candidate will:
* Work in our agile team environment to develop software systems
* Develop software for on-board and off-board aircraft systems
* Contribute to requirement capture, design and test documents
* Participate in software testing of systems both within the team and at customer sites
* Ensure your work complies with software military standards
* Develop and logically integrate software subsystems to minimize technical product risks
* Work within a large team of Software Engineers, liaising with engineers and teams across different disciplines and products. This may include international technical liaison
* Provide support to both in service engineering and new equipment design activities
About YOU
* Related post graduate work experience in a senior capacity
* Strong understanding of the Software Development lifecycle
* Strong working knowledge of C/C++, Ada and other Programing languages
* Experience in object orientated programming
* Experience as part of an agile/scrum team
* Familiarity with the Atlassian suite of tools
* Familiarity with Configuration and Change Management principles and tools, such as Git
* Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
* A Bachelor of Engineering degree or equivalent in Software, Computer or Computer Science.

Applicants must be current Australian Citizens to apply for this position and ideally hold a Baseline security clearance or have the ability to obtain this clearance.
