About the roleSolicitors in the CAV Legal team provide legal support across CAV, but primarily to the Regulatory Services Division. This involves providing specialist legal advice to investigators for the duration of an investigation and appearing in and/or managing criminal, civil and disciplinary proceedings in state and federal jurisdictions.The position will be part of a multi-disciplinary newly formed
Renting Taskforce team that will tackle poor renting conduct and increase renter confidence, focusing on rental offences committed by rental providers and estate agents who do not comply with Victoria's rental laws.
About youTo be considered for the role, you must be able to demonstrate:
- knowledge and understanding of the practice and procedure of various courts including the processes and rules of Court applicable to proceedings commenced by writ or originating motion or criminal prosecutions.
- Demonstrated ability to assist with and/or manage litigation and conduct criminal, civil and administrative proceedings, including the management of budgets.
- Demonstrated ability to carry out complex legal research and analysis.
Mandatory requirements- To be admitted to practice as an Australian lawyer and eligible to hold an unconditional Victorian practising certificate. You will be asked to provide evidence of this requirement.
