David Healey Solicitors is looking for a full-time solicitor to join their Civil law practice.
About the Firm
David Healey Solicitors is a boutique firm specialising in workers' compensation (primarily in the Comcare scheme) and personal injury claims. We act for injured workers, including first responders and federal and ACT government employees, and were recognised in the 2023 Doyle’s List as a recommended firm for workers’ compensation.
The Role
As a solicitor, you will be providing legal advice and assistance to our clients for their legal matters. You will represent David Healey Solicitors and our clients in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal and other courts. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing sound legal advice and managing files independently
- Drafting Tribunal documents
- Appearing in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal and other courts
- Attending conciliation conferences and informal settlement conferences where required
- Managing client correspondence via email and telephone
- Corresponding with various stakeholders, including Courts and barristers
Selection Criteria
- Bachelor of Law or degree equivalent
- Valid ACT practicing certificate (or ability to obtain one)
- 0 to 2 years PAE
- Experience with workers’ compensation or personal injury preferred
- Able to manage and balance client needs and priorities
- Resilient, strong attention to detail, good organisational skills, and ability to work autonomously
