Solicitor - Government Department

Solicitor - NSW Government Department 
Contract: 6 months contract.
Pay Rate: $560 - $720 per day + super
Location: Parramatta - 4PSQ - 12 Darcy St, Parramatta
Hours of work: 8 Hours a day / 40 Hours a day

Seeking a skilled legal practitioner with expertise in litigation, criminal prosecution, or administrative law proceedings for a role in Parramatta.

Requirements:

• Provide independent legal advice and services in government law, including administrative law, litigation, and prosecutions.
• Ensure accurate interpretation and operation of relevant legislation and effective legal service delivery.
• Offer clear, concise legal advice across various legislation administered by the Organization.
• Analyze and interpret legislation, draft legal documents, and prepare advice.
• Identify and report on emerging legal issues, work on legislative projects, and contribute to maintaining legal registers and precedent systems.

Criteria:

• Admission as a legal practitioner of the Supreme Court of NSW.
• Possession of a current unrestricted practising certificate.
• Ability to provide clear, concise legal advice across diverse legislation.
• Capability to identify and report on emerging legal issues, work on legislative projects, and contribute to maintaining legal registers.
• Experience in maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and case law.
• Ideal candidate should have several years of experience in one of these fields and be capable of independently managing cases.
• Ability to hit the ground running and work on-site five days a week.
