Solicitor, Trade Mark

We are seeking a Solicitor to join our leading Trade Marks team to be based in Melbourne or Sydney.

In this role you will work closely with the head of our Trade Marks team, Ike Papageorge along with a team of experts in their field. As a member of the Trade Marks team you will also work closely with the broader IP practice including with leading partners Sue Gilchrist, Emma Iles and Rebekah Gay. You will undertake a range of work that supports national and international clients including:

• Australian and international Trade Mark filing and prosecution;
• Trade Mark and domain name disputes;
• rebranding and clearance advice;
• drafting and negotiating worldwide consents and co-existence agreements;
• Trade Mark portfolio management; and
• advising on intellectual property aspects of due diligence.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• demonstrable experience across Trade Mark prosecutions from a leading top tier, national or international private practice; or an in-house environment;
• an excellent academic record coupled with strong legal skills and a practical mindset;
• a proactive approach and desire to be an integral member of our leading and supportive team;
• an ability to work to tight timeframes, collaboratively and at times autonomously;
• excellent communication skills and ability to demonstrate collegiality within a team;
• have a hunger to learn and develop, and be part of maintaining a market-leading practice.

Our Trade Mark team is a tight-knit group who boast a wealth of experience, with members who have been collaborating effectively for many years.

Our specialists advise clients on all areas of Trade Mark strategy and protection to help our client protect their valuable brands and associated rights. We manage worldwide portfolios for many leading brands and work alongside our clients in a strategic role helping to protect high-value IP as well as enabling our clients to make the most of their IP assets through licensing and other commercial agreements.
