The Role
Working under one of Australia’s top group sommeliers – who’s won numerous awards, worked in Sydney’s best restaurants, and has developed an incredible, ever-changing wine list full of Australian wines and a large cellar of international wines. The sommelier team of this beautiful CBD venue is a small, and within it you get a deep and extensive training program that gives you incredible exposure to learn everything about wine and production – with regular tastings with the team. This would suit either a junior sommelier or an experienced wine waiter whose passion is everything about wine!
The Property
This company is highly acclaimed and well recognised in the industry - being fronted by some of hospitalities best. This is a very busy, mainly corporate clientele, based restaurant. On a busy service they can do 300pax and at a high level of food and service. The service is detailed and attentive, with a premium product. The team are very organised and structure, the venue runs like a well oiled machine. They provide support, systems and structure. The food is locally sourced, with a strong focus on beautifully sourced cuts of meat.

Who we are looking for
Anyone who is passionate about wine! You will get extensive training on all of the products, with regular tastings. As the list is ever changing there will always be more to learn. If you have experienced as a wine waiter and want to take the next step onto the Sommelier path, this would be a perfect step up.
Candidates with some junior sommelier experience would be ideal for this role. You will get extensive training on techniques, skills and product knowledge but must have a sound foundation – as it’s a high volume, pumping role.
Be a people person, confident and being comfortable working with corporate clients is also a really important part of the role. Attributes that will fit in well here would be positive, professional and engaging. Given that this property is highly systemised, exposure to this type of environment as well would be favourable.
