The Star Sydney is currently accepting applications for a Sous Chef in our Cucina Porto team.
A few of your responsibilities
- Be accountable for leading all aspects of team management
- Participate in menu preparation and pricing policies
- Develop training plans and conduct on-the-job training sessions
- Ensure an open line of communication between the team, management and guests.
- Attract and retain the right talent into the business.
What are we looking for?
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef and relevant tertiary qualifications, such as Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery
- Knowledge of a variety of Asian cooking styles (wok skills advantageous)
- Experience managing a lively and fast-paced team
- Strong understanding of produce, culinary techniques, and kitchen equipment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Full working rights to commit to a minimum of 40 hours per week working varied shifts, including weekends, public holidays, late nights and early mornings
