Accor Tropical North Queensland (Magnetic Island) are seeking a Full Time Sous Chef / Head & Executive Chef to join the team that delivers an exceptional guest experience.
As our next Sous Chef / Head & Executive Chef, you will:
• Be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the kitchen operation
• Recruit senior and junior positions with assistance of administration staff
• Roster team members while interpreting and acting upon financial information
• Develop external relationships with appropriate suppliers
• Analyse competitors & market trends while providing constant & consistent development of the menu
• Have extraordinary culinary flair and a motivating leadership style to support your enthusiastic team of Chefs
• Ensure high quality and presentation of food provided to guests, according to property standards and timeframes of service
• Maintain a safe clean and organised work environment with emphasis on high food safety standards
• Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the hospitality industry
What we are looking for:
• A chef with previous experience in an a la carte and functions environment
• Someone with a confident, modern and creative cooking style with a strong emphasis on quality and presentation
• A strong understanding of food cost and control
• Experience in month-end stock take
• A flexible approach in adapting to guest requests
• Great communication skills and ability to develop a motivated cohesive brigade.
• Good time management skills and the ability to work well under pressure
This position offers a salary range of AUD$70,000.00- $90,000.00 based on working days and penalties applicable as per the Hospitality Industry General Award.
