The Organisation
Owned and operated by Adelaide Venue Management (AVM), the world-class Adelaide Convention Centre (ACC) offers a recently renovated, state-of-the-art kitchen—considered one of the best equipped in the country—along with the opportunity to produce innovative cuisine for some the largest events in South Australia.
The Role
Due to increased business levels and team expansion, an opportunity has become available for two Sous Chefs to join our dynamic and highly skilled kitchen brigade at the ACC. We are looking for like-minded Chefs who would love to create “out of the ordinary” food and be part of the ever-growing food trends. The roles involve leading a team in preparation, service and client interaction, to enhance our already restaurant quality offerings.
Key Responsibilities
- Keeping abreast of food trends through ongoing research and attendance at industry-based functions as required.
- Work closely and liaise with the Executive Chef to set food standards and monitor proper quality controls.
- Personally supervise food production, presentation and service prior to its delivery to various event outlets.
- Ensure all risks associated with special dietary requirements and food allergies are safely managed.
- Assist in the drafting of kitchen policies and menu planning.
- Assist with the training, mentoring and motivating of junior chefs and apprentices.
