We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef for this busy coastal venue located remotely in the Gulf of Queensland.

Ideally seeking a long term commitment, the successful candidate will enjoy working as part of a team of chefs, prepping and cooking a seafood focused bistro menu whilst assisting the head chef with running the kitchen.

The kitchen caters to a large amount of tourists during the winter and to the locals during the summer, open for lunch and dinner 7 days per week.

If you love fishing, this is the ideal destination with local fishing and access to deep sea fishing charters. The sunsets are amazing and the weather is warm all year round.

This is a fulltime role paid by the hour with penalty & overtime rates.

Accommodation is provided free of charge making it an excellent location to save heaps of money.

Package:

• Fulltime Position with Annual / Sick leave etc
• $28.57 Monday-Friday ($31.09 after 7pm)
• $35.71 Saturday
• $42.86 Sunday
• $55.66 Overtime rates
• $64.28 Public Holidays 
• Free Accommodation Provided

Duties:

• Assist the head chef with the day to day running of the kitchen
• Manage the kitchen on the head chefs days off 
• Preparation and cooking of bistro style meals
• Supervise junior chefs
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene standards
• Work as part of the team
• Offer input into the menus
• Other duties as required 

Candidate Requirements:

• Ideally seeking a long term commitment
• Able to work in a remote location
• Previous experience in a similar role
• Able to work as part of a team
