Job description

The St Vincent de Paul Society aspires to be recognised as a caring charity offering “a hand up” to people in need. We do this by respecting their dignity, sharing our hope, and encouraging them to take control of their own destiny.

The Southern Area Retail Coordinator overseas the operation of nine Vinnies Stores in the south of the state by supporting and mentoring our Store Managers, staff and volunteers. You will be supported by our Chief Operations Officer and a well established statewide team. 

This role requires a mix of retail experience, people management skills, previous mentoring experience and above all alignment with the values of The Society.

Essential Requirements

  • Demonstrated Retail Management experience, including managing staff
  • Experience or knowledge of the Not for Profit or Charity space
  • Experience working with volunteers
  • Understanding of financial reporting and setting realistic budget targets
  • A creative flair for visual merchandising
  • Experience in the fashion or clothing industry
  • Awareness of current market value of quality second-hand goods.
  • Understanding of stock control procedures and best practice
  • Ability to manage and lead diverse teams on various locations
  • Exemplary communication skills over a range of different platforms
  • Experience with rosters and the management of in an ever changing environment
  • Demonstrated understanding of current WHS practices 
  • Time management skills along with an ability to cope with competing time frames
  • Self motivation and the commitment to make a difference in your community
  • A genuine respect for all members of the community, regardless of their situation

The successful applicant must hold a current compliant National Police Check, along with a valid Working with Vulnerable People Card or willingness to obtain. You must also hold a Driver's Licence with no restrictions.
