About the Role:
Due to growth in our business, an opportunity exists for a full-time, experienced, and motivated individual to fill the position of Sowing Machine Operator at our Victorian Nursery located at Devon Meadows.
Job Responsibilities:
As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for the following key tasks:
- Machine Set-Up and Operation: Set up and operate our Urbinati Sowing Machine to ensure smooth and efficient production processes.
- Quality Control: Monitor the production line to ensure that our machines consistently produce high-quality products that meet our standards.
- Optimisation and Maintenance: Keep a keen eye on machine performance and make authorized adjustments to maximize output and minimize downtime. Perform routine maintenance and repairs to ensure machinery operates at peak efficiency.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Comply with company policies and regulations to meet industry standards.
- Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with other team members to ensure seamless production flow and weekly sowing completion.
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Experience: Proven experience as a Machine Operator in a plant nursery or manufacturing environment is preferred (experience operating Urbinati machines highly regarded).
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with industrial machinery and equipment, including their setup, operation, and basic maintenance.
- Attention to Detail: Demonstrated ability to pay meticulous attention to detail, ensuring precision in product output.
- Team Player: Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Capacity to identify and resolve machine-related issues promptly and efficiently.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and perform intermittent physically demanding tasks.
- Safety Consciousness: Prioritize safety and follow safety guidelines to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Horticultural Qualifications: Qualifications and knowledge highly regarded.
