Spa Manager, qualia Hamilton Island
Hamilton Island in the glorious Whitsundays is Australia’s Premier Island Resort with 4 resort options, over 15 different dining and restaurant establishments, a championship golf course, a stunning Yacht Club and two luxurious Day Spas.
We now have an exciting opportunity for a Spa Manager to lead our Spa qualia team. qualia, Hamilton Island, is an oasis of Australian style, combining award-winning luxury with intuitive friendly service.
The meaning of qualia is “a collection of deeper sensory experiences” and this is what qualia uniquely delivers. Situated on Hamilton Island, qualia is a private oasis in the Whitsundays and the Oatley family’s world-class boutique luxury resort.
The Role
You will guide and support the team to deliver all treatments and services on the Spa Menu to the highest standards, ensuring we always exceed our guests’ expectations and deliver a five-star experience, every time.
Your Role will:
- Manage day-to-day operations of the spa, including scheduling, inventory management, budgeting and supervision.
- Address concerns and inquiries promptly, efficiently, and with a high degree of professionalism.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase spa revenue and profitability.
- Effectively recruit, onboard, and inspire team members, while nurturing and reinforcing collaborative relationships within the organisation.
About You:
You’re passionate about the Spa industry and committed to being a leader in the field, always staying abreast of domestic and international market initiatives to enhance your own and the team’s performance.
To be successful in the role you will need:
Leadership Skills: Proficient in leading and managing a medium-sized team within the spa industry, showcasing the ability to inspire and motivate team members effectively. Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and discretion in all interactions, both internally and externally.
Luxury and Guest Experience: Possessing demonstrated extensive operational and administrative expertise in premium spa services, your commitment to excellence in every aspect of the guest experience is paramount. With a sharp focus on providing guests with exceptional spa experiences, you should possess a deep understanding of luxury spa service standards, ensuring consistently high levels of customer satisfaction and delivering extraordinary service to leave every guest feeling pampered and rejuvenated.
Flexibility and Adaptability: You can adapt to changing circumstances and handle unexpected challenges with grace, maintaining composure and finding solutions swiftly.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are vital, enabling clear and effective communication with both team member and guests. Articulating the company's vision, mission, and values to effectively foster alignment and collaboration among team members, ensuring a cohesive approach to delivering exceptional spa experiences.
You will also have:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a spa management role (Essential)
- Current First Aid and CPR Certification (Essential)
- Diploma of Remedial Massage or Diploma of Beauty therapy (Essential)
- Nationally recognised responsible service of alcohol qualification (Essential)
- Driver’s licence (Essential)
