As a Specialist Behavioural Support Practitioner – Advanced / Registered Psychologist, you will be a pivotal part of our team, utilizing the Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approach to empower individuals with disabilities to improve their quality of life and reduce the frequency and severity of behaviours of concern. This role combines advanced psychological expertise with a deep commitment to human rights and evidence-based practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Case Management: Manage a complex clinical case load within your scope of practice while meeting clinical Key Performance Indicators.
- Service Delivery: Deliver a minimum of 25 service hours per week (full-time equivalent), inclusive of providing supervision to team members.
- Advanced Psychological Expertise: Conduct psychological assessments (e.g., risk assessment, cognitive assessment, ADHD/ASD assessment, mental health assessment, personality assessment) and deliver evidence-based psychological counseling as part of the Yooralla Psychology Clinic.
- Behavioural Support: Apply PBS concepts and models of practice complementary to PBS, shaping strategic thinking in Positive Behaviour Support.
- Plan Development and Implementation: Develop Interim Behaviour Support Plans and Comprehensive Behaviour Support Plans based on Functional Behaviour Assessments to improve individuals' quality of life.
- Supervision and Leadership: Provide direct supervision to NDIS Positive Behaviour Support Practitioners at all other levels and shape practice leadership across settings and interactions with stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of Behaviour Support Plans, including the reduction of restrictive practices, and recommend regulated restrictive practices as required.
- Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in delivering consistent, safe, and high-quality psychological and behavior support services.
To be successful in this role you’ll share and have:
- Current National Police Record Check
- International Police Check (if required)
- Working with Children Check
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current driver's license valid in Australia
- Post-graduate tertiary qualification in Psychology
- Full registration as a psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Registration as an Advanced Practitioner under the NDIS Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework
- Previous experience working as a Proficient/Advanced Practitioner under the NDIS Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Capability Framework
- Up-to-date Immunisation History
- Access to your vehicle with employment-related travel reimbursement provided (Travel is an expectation of the position)
- Previous experience working in a disability-related field (e.g., disability support work, support coordination, disability advocacy)
- Lived experience of disability
