About the role

An opportunity exists in Specialist Clinics at Box Hill hospitals Scheduling Team for a passionate and enthusiastic Computer Clerk. The Scheduling Team in Specialist clinics at Box Hill Hospital is a busy department of the hospital meeting the needs of patients from the community by providing a range of specialist services. Approximately 160 000 occasions of service are provided annually. These include new patients referred from the community, review appointments for ongoing care and post admission follow up from Eastern Health’s network of hospitals.

Responsibilities include:

• Clinic bookings and registration of patients (eReferral Management)
• Doctors leave management
• Rebooking new patients from cancellations
• Waitlist management
• Email management
• Appointment scheduling/ Portfolio Management
• Referral management linked to needing further information
• Working closely with surgical team/head of units/liaison nurse.

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess:

• Year 10 level English written and spoken
• Knowledge of patient management systems iPM, CPF and eMR (desired)
• Computer competent in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel preferred
• Advanced telephone skills and clerical skills
• Ability to provide quality customer service in a friendly and professional manner to support high quality patient centred care
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• The ability to work as part of a diverse team
