Tell me about this role:We are currently looking for a NV1 Specialist Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis. This role will see lead, plan and deliver critical and complex engineering outcomes, as well as provide engineering advice in relation to explosive ordnance under broad direction.
A strong Defence background is essential as well as a positive attitude and the flexibility to take on tasks that may be outside of your job description. You will be joining a multi-discipline team and providing subject matter expertise across the project.
What will I be doing day to day?
- Lead, plan and deliver critical and complex engineering outcomes, as well as provide engineering advice in relation to explosive ordnance under broad direction.
- Translate high-level goals and outcomes, identify issues and uncertainties and incorporate these into planning, decision-making, priority setting and implementation strategies.
- Implement explosive ordnance engineering knowledge to improve on and refine established engineering principles, techniques, methods and regulations.
- Work collaboratively, communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders and influence the work of teams.
- Evaluate technical and design packages including scoping, planning, and reviewing and implement actions.
- Evaluate and ensure that the delivered materiel meets requirements and legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks and implement actions.
- Lead and ensure consideration of safety aspects of Defence materiel systems and incorporate these into explosive ordnance engineering activities.
- Hold a NV1 security clearance
- Relevant Engineering Bachelors degree
- Experience operating with Explosive Ordnance or Guidance Weapons
- Comprehensive experience and knowledge in the fields of explosive ordnance engineering, communications engineering, systems engineering and software engineering;
- Be able to liaise effectively with other Defence and non-Defence organisations
