About the Role
The Specialist Music Teacher – Violin (SMT-V) casual position requires a professionally qualified and musically knowledgeable violin teacher with the ability to effectively teach and support students (beginner to highly advanced) from K-12 with a wide range of musical interests and abilities. This casual role will require the successful applicant to plan, prepare and implement appropriate teaching repertoire and resources, provide high quality, supportive feedback for student improvement, demonstrate and apply validated pedagogy and technique.
Key Duties- Teach an allocated load of individual violin and viola lessons.
- Be proactive in providing an academically challenging, stimulating, enjoyable and safe environment where students are enthused and engaged in music-making and music exploration.
- Collaborate effectively and respectfully in the preparation and support of students in both curricular and co-curricular pursuits.
- Perform as a professional associate artist for student and school performances across a range of music styles.

About You
- Appropriate Music, Educational and Instrumental qualifications/Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in the relevant instrumental area.
- The capacity to contribute to the school’s academic life through specialist individual instrument lessons.
- The ability to be flexible in effectively collaborating and communicating with classroom teachers within a school that supports holistic opportunities for the students.
- The capacity to inspire learners of all abilities and musical interests.
