Play a key role in the construction of Hydro Tasmania’s Battery of the Nation by leading underground and tunnelling works. Be part of a significant Tasmanian renewable infrastructure project. Work based in beautiful Tarraleah with work initially for the Lake King William Tunnel. Work with an organisation with a strong connection to its vision and purpose. Salary range $159,800 to $216,200, super inclusive. Tasmania has significant potential in the future development of wind and hydropower, coupled with more transmission and interconnection. About You: You are passionate about joining a project that will help Australia achieve its move to renewable energy, you possess; 10 years’ experience in tunnelling and underground works predominantly in ‘Drill and Blast’ Supervision of contractors constructing underground works. Application of risk-informed decision making. Development of solutions leading to investment. Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering majoring in geotechnical engineering, or qualifications in a related field as deemed appropriate. Additional study or courses in construction-related fields are desirable; and Current Class ‘C’ Tasmanian driver licence or ability to transfer existing driver licence to fulfil this requirement. About the role: This role will contribute to the overall Battery of the Nation (BoTN) projects by providing input and review as requested, on all aspects of tunnelling and underground works and also assist as a subject matter expert on maintenance and upgrading of existing underground and tunnelling assets. The primary aim of this role is to play a lead role in the construction of underground works for BoTN. A secondary aim is to provide technical assistance when requested, on the maintenance of our existing underground assets. Key tasks will include: On-site technical supervision and contractual management of contractors constructing underground works; this will initially be for the Lake King William Tunnel and subsequently for other planned BoTN underground site works.
