Hays is excited to partner with a tier one mining operator within Queensland’s Coal Mining industry, currently seeking a Site Systems Specialist focusing on Risk management.
Your new role
As a Site Systems Specialist, you will focus on effective risk management to ensure compliance to legislative and business requirements. This is a contract role based in Brisbane Monday to Friday.
Key responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance to the Risk Management Framework
- Support the review and currency of the site Risk Register
- Monitor effectiveness of risk related document management
- Monitor Field Leadership effectiveness, including scheduled compliance
- Coach and support risk and control owners in responsibilities and achieve desired outcomes of assessments
- Develop strong working relationships and support site leaders to ensure in-field adherence to new and existing safety systems.
- Identify opportunities, utilise problem-solving tools and create and manage improvement projects to completion
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience in management health and safety systems
- Working knowledge and application of QLD Coal Mining Safety and Health or QLD Work Health and Safety legislation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence health, safety and training outcomes
- Effective interpersonal skills allowing you to collaborate and build positive relationships.
- Ability to facilitate document reviews and complete risk assessment documentation in conjunction with stakeholders
- Experience managing Material Risks and Critical Controls and auditing of systems to ensure compliance
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team alongside a range of diverse individuals, be an effective team player who works well in a fast-paced environment
- Strong engaging and influencing skills with the ability to coach leaders in the field;
- High-level attention to detail, efficiency, and effectiveness.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook) and SAP experience is preferred.
