About the Role
We are actively looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and professional Specialist Staff Development Midwife to join our private maternity ward.
As a Staff Development Midwife, you will work in partnership with the health care team and be responsible for assessing learning needs, planning, delivering and evaluating educational support to meet individual and organisational learning and development needs.
Your role will also encompass, but is not limited to;
- Applying advanced nursing practices and providing a support role to all members of the team, ensuring that direct reports function within their specific scope of practice;
- Supervising the performance of midwifery procedures to ensure competent, safe care is delivered within best practice and statutory guidelines;
- Promoting mental health awareness through involvement in hospital- wide activities;
- Development and delivery of educational programs and support materials;
- Contributing to the service improvement program; and
- Participating in informal and formal development of team members.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring a strong clinical skillset in a hospital setting with clinical and professional experience working in Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
Your ability to both objectively evaluate and assess learning needs and learning outcomes, and manage unpredicted acute situations using advanced problem solving and clinical decision making is essential for this role.
To be considered for this opportunity, you will also have the following;
- Registered with AHPRA as a Registered Midwife
- Five years’ experience as a Midwife in Obstetrics & Gynaecology
- Previous experience teaching adults;
- Demonstrates relevant clinical skills and knowledge in area of specialty;
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver hands-on practical education and to undertake education presentations;
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and support staff; and
- In depth knowledge of NSQHS standards and governance processes.
- Coordinating private birth suite as needed and Ranzcog - FSEP level 3 is required.
Remuneration: On offer is a full-time equivalent, base annual salary ranging from $101,393.65 - $107,728.19 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances. (WA Clinical Nurse/Midwife Level 2 gr1-gr4)
