About The Role
We are a passionate, cohesive team of allied health professionals who provide therapy to customers with disability across Victoria. We provide person-centred interventions for people with a wide range of diagnoses such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Global Developmental Delay, Cerebral Palsy, and Intellectual Disability.
Scope Australia’s Focussed Therapy team have an exciting speech pathology opportunity in Melbourne’s South/East region based from either Cheltenham or Glen Waverly.
Our team has a specific focus around disability dysphagia and AAC, primarily working with adults and older children, with occasional clients from across the lifespan, as well as providing training to disability support workers. This position offers both a varied caseload and the opportunity to specialise in your preferred areas of practice.
Within this role your main responsibilities would be:
- Mealtime assessments for people with disabilities: conduct mealtime assessments, provide recommendations and support on the outcomes, develop mealtime management plans and provide training to client’s supports
- AAC Assessments and trials: complete comprehensive AAC assessments, identify and trial appropriate high and low tech systems and support the implementation of the preferred AAC system
- Training: provide comprehensive training sessions for disability support workers on mealtimes and swallowing disorders and communication supports and strategies

Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must provide the following:
- Current Driver’s License and your own vehicle
- Satisfactory Working With Children's Check (Employee)
- Speech Pathologists, you are a practicing member of Speech Pathology Australia
- NDIS Worker Screening Check Clearance
- Proof of 3 doses of COVID-19 vaccination in accordance with Scope policy
- Valid Australian Working Rights and an International Police Check if you have lived or worked overseas for more than one (1) year within the last ten years
