About the Role
We are looking for someone who wants to make the world a little better and to make meaningful relationships with clients and residents.
The role is a permanent part time, fixed term contract, for 12 months, 2 days a week at our Chermside Campus. You will be a member of our Health and Wellbeing team as a Speech Pathologist and part of our multidisciplinary team! We have a team of over 90 staff across both campuses in Sinnamon Park and Chermside. Our team includes Physiotherapists, Dietetics, Podiatry, Exercise Physiologist, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Nursing and more!
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Assessment of customer speech, language and/or swallow, and development of individual treatment plans and goals to address deficits in these areas
- Delivery of high quality intervention and advice
- Regular review of customer treatment plans and goals
- Assisting customers to achieve optimum outcomes and safety in communication and swallow
- Provide instruction, supervision and education to customers, support workers and other carers as required
- Identify opportunities to provide other cross disciplinary services which may be of benefit to the customer
- Ensure that the customer is an active participant in the development and review of treatment goals and planning
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Speech Pathology and eligibility for membership to Speech Pathology Australia
- Demonstrated ability and proficiency in the assessment and treatment of speech, language, voice and swallowing difficulties of community dwelling customers presenting with a wide range of needs, including aged care, disability, and health and wellbeing
- Demonstrated ability and proficiency in the timely receipting, appropriate documenting and accurate record keeping into computerised programs
- High level of verbal and written communication skills particularly in establishing and maintaining rapport with staff, customers and their carers
- Current Driver’s Licence and willingness to drive in the course of work
