This Senior Speech Pathologist position is situated at Manning Hospital, Taree in the beautiful Manning Valley in very close proximity to idyllic beaches and scenic bushland.

Manning Hospital is a 202 bed hospital with a wide range of specialty areas. As the successful applicant you will provide high quality speech pathology services to a broad range of areas of practice across the hospital, and in the community. This will include opportunities to work in the acute stroke unit, ICU, ED, Multipurpose Unit (MPU) Oncology (including laryngectomy care), palliative care, VFSS, community outreach and inpatient paediatric services. You will work within a dynamic team of Speech Pathologists who are dedicated to providing evidence based best practice, are highly motivated to continuing professional development, and keen to welcome new long-term members to the team.
About the role:
A day in the life of a Manning Hospital Speech Pathologist typically starts with caseload allocation, attending multidisciplinary team meetings on the wards, then off to see allocated patients. Some days the workplace are quite dynamic and may include a VFSS clinic, RACF visits, or outreach to surrounding towns such as the beautiful Gloucester. Afternoons typically consist of seeing any new referrals that have come up, self-directed education, data input, and/or working on any quality improvement projects in the works.
- Clinical supervision is essential for best practice and will be provided in line with the clinician’s experience and years of practice.
- There will be opportunities for upskilling through professional development courses, webinars, skill-sharing on the job and specialised competency programs in line with the clinician’s goals for development and the needs of the service.

Requirements:
- Must hold a bachelor or post graduate degree in speech pathology which provides eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.
- Availability and willingness to work a 7-day and on-call roster.
