A rare opportunity has arisen at First Financial for an experienced Financial Accountant to join our Finance team based in the Melbourne CBD office.

First Financial is one of the largest boutique wealth advisory firms in Melbourne. Our business consists of approximately 100 employees, managing an estimated $3 billion of funds on behalf of private families.
We are currently looking for a Financial Accountant to join our Finance team on a full-time basis. As an integral member of the team, you will be assisting the Chief Financial Officer with a range of tasks within the finance field.
Key responsibilities
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the responsibilities of the Financial Accountant role at First Financial include but are not limited to:
- All aspects of the month end process to completion, including reconciliations and reporting.
- Manage the day-to-day financial operations of a group related entities, including overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll functions.
- Review BAS, Payroll Tax and FBT returns and workers compensation.
- Cashflow management
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets & forecasts
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and accounting standards
- Year-end liaising with external Accountants and Auditors
- Prepare various monthly financial reports & assist with Board papers.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
We are looking for someone with the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
- Completed or near completion of the post graduate qualification in CA/CPA
- Minimum 3 years' experience within an accountant role
- Experience with XERO is essential
- Experience in managing a small finance team will be highly favorable
- Experience in a complex, dynamic, fast paced operating environment and able to manage competing deadlines for multiple stakeholders.
- A sound understanding of Australian financial regulations and standards
