What you'll be doing
To provide high quality and comprehensive speech pathology Palliative Care services to consumers of the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD). This position will manage a complex inpatient and community caseload, providing services independently and as a member of the Palliative Care multidisciplinary team.
To assist the Unit Head and Clinical Leaders to supervise staff, assist with operational and professional matters, and to maintain a positive workplace culture.
This position may be required to work weekends and public holidays.
This is a temporary Part Time 18 hpw maternity relief position until 15 March 2025 with the possibility of an extension at same/reduced hours
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed an up-to-date course of a COVID-19 vaccine (2 doses) which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Selection Criteria * Tertiary degree in speech pathology (or equivalent) with eligibility for practicing membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
- Demonstrated high-level written and verbal communication, and strong computer literacy skills.
- Extensive experience independently managing adult inpatient and/or outpatient caseloads in acute and/or rehabilitation settings.
- Demonstrated strong problem solving, time management, and prioritisation skills.
- Demonstrated experience managing communication and swallowing disorders during the end of life phase of care.
- Demonstrated experience participating in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of local service delivery using the quality improvement process and evidence based practice.
- Current unrestricted drivers licence and willingness to travel for work purposes.
