The Role
Peninsula Grammar School is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Sports coordinator. This is exciting opportunity to join Sport department supporting our Director of Sport. As the Sports Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting the overall management and development of sports programs within the school.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in the planning, coordination, and delivery of sports activities and events
- Working closely with the Director of Sport to develop and implement strategies for enhancing sports participation and performance
- Providing support in organising inter-school sporting competitions and fixtures
- Attend Saturday sporting fixtures and afternoon training session
- Assisting with the supervision and guidance of sports coaching staff and student participation
- Manage seasonal sport selections in consultation with the Director of Sport
- Act as an emergency replacement Sports Coach or Team Manager on Saturday mornings as required
- Attending and assisting with sports related events
- Contributing to the promotion of a positive sporting culture within the school community
- Overseeing administrative tasks related to sports programmes, including record-keeping and communication with stakeholders
- Supporting student athletes in their training, skill development, and competition preparation
- Assisting with risk management and health & safety compliance for sports activities
- Collaborating with other departments to integrate sports initiatives into broader school activities
The ideal candidate:
- Experience working in a similar role within the education or sports industry
- Availability to support the sports department on Saturdays and school afternoons
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team of sports staff
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven experience in coordinating sports programs and events
