SQL developer (Jnr to Mid-Level)
- Sydney based role
- 1 - 6 years SQL development experience max
- $100k - $120k + super – not flexible to 130k plus at this stage

We are looking for experienced Microsoft SQL developer for a significantly large multi-
million-dollar program for a Tier 1 banking client based in Australia. There are a number of
projects as part of the build out of Treasury function which require highly experienced SQL
developers with sound data analysis skills.

Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will fulfil the following responsibilities -

• Participate in requirements analysis, familiarize with existing code base and understand

current architecture to provide software solutions and/or fixing issues.

• Translate data requirements to technical solutions
• Write clean, scalable code/stored procedures in MS SQL.
• Test and deploy applications and systems
• Revise, update, refactor and debug code
• Improve existing software
• Develop documentation throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC)
• Respond to requests from business / stakeholders and record them in timely fashion using

enterprise tools.

• Perform advanced database queries using SQL
• Resolution of assigned tasks in a timely fashion and escalation where necessary.
• Maintain and follow appropriate standards.

Mandatory Skills Description:

• Junior to Mid-Level SQL Development – 1 to 6 years exp Max as a SQL Developer in a
• Microsoft environment with a max of 10 – 15 years’ work experience max in total

Must have either generic banking background or knowledge of capital markets / terminology
– either ok

• The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of data analysis and writing advance

SQL queries/stored procedure in complex large-scale applications and transformations. You
will have exceptional technical, analytical and operational skills.

• Excellent understanding of data analysis skills
• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills. Able to investigate, analyse and troubleshoot

tasks.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Treasury function or exposure to loans, interest rates, balance sheet related

applications/datasets is desirable but not mandatory.
