At Calvary Mater Newcastle (CMN), our Emergency Department provides a specialised focus on General Medicine, Oncology and Haematology, Palliative Care, Psychiatric and Clinical Toxicology presentations.

• Remuneration: $262,376 per annum - $354,479 per annum, dependent on years of experience + superannuation +

YOUR NEW ROLE:
The Staff Specialist is responsible for participation in the Emergency Medicine roster, provision of specialist consultation, supervision, medical education, research and administration. The Staff Specialist works within an inter-disciplinary team to ensure timely, appropriate care and effective discharge strategies.
Key Responsibilities:

• Provide clinical guidance and expertise to Junior Medical Officers within the Emergency Department.
• Participate in the dissemination of knowledge and ideas through attendance at conferences, seminars and workshops.
• Ensure patient care is delivered within professional and ethical boundaries, that reflects evidence based best practice.

What you bring:

• A Primary Medical Degree registrable by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and Fellowship of the Australian College of Emergency Medicine.
• Understanding of clinical governance principles, that promote quality and safety in health care with experience in evidence based best practice.
• Commitment to undergraduate and post graduate teaching in medicine, nursing and Allied Health.
• Demonstrated experience in Emergency Medicine.
