Staff specialists are actively involved in the training of basic and advanced physician trainees and the supervision of international medical graduates. - You will have Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in General and Acute Medicine.
- Contribute to the provision of high-quality inpatient and outpatient care to public and private patients of the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) in General Medicine.
- Contribute to the Department of General Medicine's afterhours and weekend roster.
- Provide professional leadership to medical, nursing, and allied health staff and foster interdisciplinary teamwork.
- Be actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, as well as trainee and IMG supervision and mentoring
- Be involved in research and undertake quality improvement activities.
- Actively support and participate in service development to improve current services and develop new services in the Department of General Medicine.

- Please note that access to the Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner salary range $291,472 - $301,349 is subject to the successful applicant satisfying the criteria for Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1, 2 or 3 as outlined in the Medical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Award.
- Provision of a fully maintained private plated motor vehicle (subject to working full-time hours for at least three years) OR allowance in lieu of motor vehicle currently set at $27,535 pro rata per annum, paid fortnightly (with CPI indexation on 1 July each year).
- Continuing Professional Development Allowance of $16,000 per annum pro rata.
- On call allowance % of Base Salary.
- Superannuation of 11%.
- All other allowances as per current Award.
- And, subject to approval from the Private Patient Scheme Committee (PPS), 35% of Base salary plus on-call, pro rata) of additional payment will be paid from (PPS). If not admitted to the PPS, a 35% in lieu of PPS of base salary will be paid.
