The Position:
The Hospital is looking for committed clinicians to join the dedicated Emergency Department Team. Applicants must hold a medical degree registrable with AHPRA and hold Fellowship of the Australian College of Emergency Medicine (FACEM). Applicants expecting to be elected to Fellowship in the coming months may be considered.
The role:
- We are seeking committed candidates who are passionate about delivering the best possible care to their patients.
- Apart from providing ‘shop floor’ leadership, you will have the opportunity to develop your management skills in a variety of areas, including training and other aspects of clinical governance.
- We are looking for people who can think strategically and be innovative in continuing to improve the Emergency Department patient journey and experience.
- You will excel at being able to function in and lead a dedicated multi-disciplinary team.
- You will pride yourself in your ability to communicate, with respect, to people from all backgrounds.
- You will have a true commitment to, and vision for, the future of rural Emergency Medicine services in our region.
- You will provide clinical leadership and direction to medical staff within the ED, as well as participating in training, supervision and mentoring of junior medical staff.
The Hospital:
The hospital has 180 beds and within this, provide an excellent range of other Specialist inpatient services including General Medicine, Paediatrics, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Intensive Care, Psychiatry, Renal, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Anaesthesia, Urology and Oncology Services. They serve a population of around 100,000 people, in an area of 3,732 km².
Their Emergency Department is a busy rural service seeing in excess of 33,000 presentations p.a., 30-35% admission rate and 20% Paediatric case load. The department manage a very much above average acutely ill patient load, with our Triage Category 2 patients being in the region of 17%. The department physically has two resus bays, 14 acute beds (two Paediatric), five consultation rooms, one mental health room and one isolation room.

- Day surgery
- General medicine
- Critical care
- Obstetrics
- Paediatrics
- Emergency services
- Oncology
- Palliative care
- Renal services
- Rehabilitation
- High dependency nursing
- Mental health.
