Your Opportunity

The State Director (SunglassHut) located in Western Australia, is fully accountable for the management and leadership of retail operations and achievement of sales, profitability and business growth. This position is responsible for the execution and development of key corporate initiatives to increase sales and customer loyalty. The SD manages and directs the sales team to ensure the business is attracting and retaining a high performing team and implements strategic plans for continued growth and improvement.

Put Customers First

  • Respond to all customer querries in an effective, professional and timely manner.
  • Responsible for coaching field team members to build and enhance great customer relationships through their leadership.
  • Proactively seek and demonstrate practical ways to respond to and stay ahead of competitors.
  • Know and understand emerging retail trends to identify new market opportunities and concepts.
  • Deal promptly and objectively with Regional issues. Conflict situations must be discussed with relevant Shared Services representatives.

Engage and Empower People

  • Develop and implement a regional people strategy to ensure delivery ofbusiness objectives.
  • Develop high performance teams by having the right people in the right place at the right time.
  • Play an active role in developing and promoting talent within the business and provides development opportunities for successors.
  • Share key learning and best practices with Optical State Sales Mangers.
  • Drive core business processes such as Managing Performance and Talent Management, including Succession Planning.
  • Encourage and model the way for people to communicate openly, transparently and regularly.
  • Lead people and teams to work across functions, brands and departments to achieve required goals and outcomes.

  • Create an inspiring and engaging team environment.

  • solutions to problems.
  • Constantly drive business improvement initiatives to increase the overall functional effectiveness of the team.

  • Regularly communicate with the NSD on business performance and key issues requiring attention (including real estate, product, people, loss prevention etc).

Shape the Future

  • Translate Luxottica’s strategy into a relevant regional business strategy that balances short term requirements with long range business objectives.
  • Promote One Sight and educate field team on the One Sight program.
  • Proactively lead and motivate others to follow during times of change.
  • Attend and contribute to regular sales team meetings to identify opportunities and plan a shared vision of change.
  • Conduct ongoing analysis of key market and financial trends and drivers using this information to take action to improve performance.

Deliver Great Results

  • Actively manage budgets and monitor performance against budget.
  • Identify and maximise opportunities for profit.
  • Meets the performance objectives, and informs others of their ongoing progress.
  • Delivers planned Store Operating Profit through planning and managing the sales results
  • Effectively managing controllable costs within the area, and formulating plans for ongoing efficiencies
  • Establishes clear and realistic timelines to achieve goals.
  • Understands and responds to the competition and environmental trends in the region and advises key stakeholders of changes in competition,
  • customers, trends and other market matters that will materially impact P&L performance.
  • Assist in smooth implementation and execution of changes.

Formal Qualification/Certification Required

  • Retail Management qualifications desirable.
  • Business-related tertiary qualifications desirable.

Years of Experience Required

  • Minimum 5 years multi-site (field) management experience.
  • Internal candidates must have a minimum of 2 years experience in a Regional Sales Manager role.
