Surf Life Saving Queensland employs over 550 people throughout Queensland. SLSQ is an efficient and vibrant organisation servicing 32,500 members. It was formally established in 1930 and is the governing body for surf lifesaving in Queensland, comprising 57 affiliated surf lifesaving clubs in six regional branches. The organisation also includes supporters’ clubs and a range of programs that involve more than 462,000 participants. SLSQ is directly affiliated with, and is part of, Surf Life Saving Australia (SLSA) and the International Life Saving Federation (ILF). The Role:

The role of the State Operations Centre Supervisor is to manage the flow of timely and accurate information in response to emergency and non-emergency situations in our Gold Coast Emergency Communications Centre. This may include the dissemination of information to members of the public and emergency services agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate emergency communications centre operations.
• Maintain standards of emergency service delivery.
• Manage communications systems and equipment, ensuring equity and safety to members.
• Coordinate search and rescue operations and resources.
• Supervise your direct reports (Emergency Communications Officers).

Key Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:

• Working with Children Blue Card (Essential).
• National Police Record Check (Essential).
• Proof of Identity Check (points of identification and working rights) (Essential).
• Demonstrable commitment to empowering and respecting children and young people (Essential).
• High level understanding of child safety and the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations (Essential).
• Minimum typing speed 50 wpm and +90% accuracy.
• Demonstrated ability in managing a small team in high pressure situations.
• Well-developed oral and written communications (Essential).
• Knowledge and understanding of AIIMS principles (Desirable).
• Certificate II in public safety and beach patrol experience, or

a. Relevant emergency service experience in an operational role

b. Relevant emergency Operations Centre experience
